Camden County Electrician — Cherry Hill, Haddonfield & Surrounding Towns

← Back to all service areas

Camden County is a daily route for us. From the older Victorians in Haddonfield to the post-war ranches in Cherry Hill, we work through PSE&G coordination and the local construction office on every job.

Every install is signed off by a New Jersey Master Electrician — not a helper with a phone-app diagram. Permits are pulled in our name and inspected by the township's licensed sub-code official.

Camden County towns with dedicated landing pages

We've built town-specific pages for the Camden County markets where we run the most volume. Each one covers panel-replacement specifics, EV-charger options, and the local inspector's preferences.

• Cherry Hill — 08002 / 08003 / 08034

• Haddonfield — 08033

PSE&G vs. JCP&L — why the utility matters

Most of Camden County is PSE&G territory, which means a different cut/reconnect process than the JCP&L jobs we do in Burlington County. PSE&G requires a separate online service application, a meter-pan inspection sticker before the cut, and a same-day reconnect window. We handle the full submittal so you don't lose a day waiting for the truck.

Common Camden County job profiles

Cherry Hill: 1960s split-levels with original 100A panels and undersized #4 service entrance — full 200A upgrades with new mast and weatherhead. Haddonfield: pre-1920 homes with cloth-jacket Romex and shared neutrals — selective rewires plus AFCI/GFCI dual-function breakers per NEC 210.12.

EV-ready panel work

Most Camden County homes don't have spare 240V capacity for a Level 2 charger. We size the upgrade using NEC 220.83 (existing dwelling load calc), then either swap to a 200A panel or install an EV energy-management device (DCC-9, Wallbox Power Boost) so the existing service stays. Both routes pass PSE&G inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a PSE&G service upgrade actually take from quote to power-back-on?

Two to three weeks if the meter location stays. Week 1: permit submittal and PSE&G online application. Week 2: rough inspection and PSE&G cut/reconnect scheduling. Day-of: panel swap and reconnect, usually 6–8 hours with power restored before dark.

Do you work in Camden City proper or only the suburbs?

Both, but commercial-only inside Camden City — light industrial, tenant fit-outs, and exterior service-entrance work. Residential work is concentrated in Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Voorhees, Collingswood, and the surrounding suburbs.

Are you actually licensed in New Jersey, or just 'insured'?

Both. DK Electrical Solutions holds an active New Jersey Electrical Contractor license under a Master Electrician of record, plus general liability and workers' comp. We hand the license number and COI to any homeowner or GC who asks before we pull the first permit.
